When creating a training program, we are informed by the outcome of the Situational Analysis. This tool, unique to Transform strategists, reveals and makes evident all of the contextual factors, structures and stakeholder agency all of which interact and shape the outcomes of training and professional learning.
Transform strategists are first and foremost educational experts. Our knowledge, skills and experience are unparalleled within this field. We understand the needs of organisations and how training and professional learning can enhance business performance and efficiency.
Our approach to training is grounded in the theories of situational learning which locates the nature and outcome of learning in the locus of practice. As such, learning ‘incidents’ generate their meaning from actual ‘real’ deliberative practice.
The most effective way to incorporate a new skill, knowledge or ability is to apply it in actual authentic situations within normal work practice, and as far as possible ‘learn’ it either directly in the place of practice, or contextualised directly to that place. The design of our training programs create a structure and methodology that combines both formal and informal elements and learning objects through a blended design of context face-to-face workshops, flexible online learning, access to key resources, and an informal tutorial style learning via an online community of practice discussion groups.
The training program framework integrates three key aspects:
- Professional Learning: The skills, knowledge and professional abilities required for effective training and teaching;
- Learning in Practice: The application and integration of learnt skills, knowledge and abilities in everyday practice;
- Evaluation: The ongoing evaluation and assessment of the training program and cluster approach to professional learning and support.
These three key aspects are underpinned and enabled by the situational context in which the training will take place. Together with the situational analysis and documented outcomes, this framework then articulates into a professional learning matrix unique to each context and organisation.
The outcomes of the training program will be to facilitate organisational behavioral change through an increase in knowledge and skills, increased organisational capacity, and improved administrative oversight.
